Ground Breaking

In the 2000 sqm land donated by LGU-Urdaneta under the administration of Hon. Julio "Rammy" Parayno III to TESDA through the initiatives of Dir. Isidro Lapeña, PhD, CSEE, TESDA Director General, fully supported by Dir. Vincent A. Cifra, Regional Director of TESDA Uno and Dir. Jimmincio S. Daoaten, Provincial Director of TESDA Pangasinan, the groundbreaking of PTC-Urdaneta was held on December 19, 2020.

Construction

Strategically situated at the Heart of Brgy. Anonas, Urdaneta City, PTC-Urdaneta began to take root under the dedicated guidance of its interim Administrator, Dr. Rosa P. Untalan, VSS I of TESDA PSAT, and with the visionary leadership of TESDA's Secretary "Sid" Lapeña. On February 4, 2021, the construction commenced on the baywalk building of PTC-Urdaneta, marking a significant milestone in its development. This marks the realization of shared vision- to establish PTC-Urdaneta as the premier training hub for TESDA Pangasinan, fully aligned with the agency's "TESDA Abot Lahat" advocacy to make quality technical education accessible to all.

Innauguration

The completion of a one-story building with perimeter fence on May 26, 2021 was made possible through the merging of passion, wisdom and resources of DG Sid Lapeña, RD Vince Ciftra, PD Jimay Daoaten, and Dr. Untalan.

Envisioning expanded access to quality training and greater opportunities for the people of Urdaneta, Director General Isidro S. Lapeña formally requested the allocation of additional land to establish the Regional TVET Innovation Center (RTiC).

With the TESDA Order no. 462, series of 2020, "Establishment of New Provincial Training Centers, the Provincial Training Center-Urdaneta was officially inaugurated on July 22, 2021. The milestone event featured by two key figures whose dedication made the center possible: Hon. Julio "Rammy" Parayno and DG Isidro S. Lapeña. During the same ceremony, the groundbreaking for the RTiC took place at the site of LGU-Urdaneta's second generous land donation, a 2,000 square meter parcel set to become a hub for innovative technical-vocational education and training in the region.

Operational Launch and Staffing of PTC-Urdaneta

PTC-Urdaneta commenced its operations with a dedicated team of 7 Plantilla Personnel, guided by Supervising TESD Specialist Gerrylyn DC Ped. The team also included three Senior TESD Specialists- Rod T. Navarro, William R. Soriano, and Mirasol A. Formento- alongside two TESD II Specialists, Jake N. Ogoy and Rexter G. De Andress, Jr., supported by Administrative Assistant III Romeo E. Lapeña. The center initially offered five full qualifications: Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, Photovoltaic Systems Installation NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II, and Trainers Methodology Levels I and II, marking a strong foundation for skills development in the province.

RTIC

PTC-Urdaneta has expanded its capabilities with the addition of the Regional TVET Innovation Center (TRIC), a cutting-edge facility focused on advancing Welding and Fabrication for Food Processing Equipment. The construction started on May 2, 2022, and brought to completion by April 3, 2023. This flagship project represents a significant investment of Php 39,998,642.12, positioning the center at the forefront of technical and vocational education innovation.

Journey Towards Quality

The Provincial Training Center-Urdaneta is established to become the training arm of the TESDA Pangasinan Provincial Office in the eastern part of the province. It is the first TESDA Technology Institution in District 5 and the only TTI in the province with an Innovation Center as its added facility. It is envisioned to provide focused on fabrication of equipment for food and meat processing equipped with Learning Equipment and Systems for TESDA Learning Center 4.0 ready.
