Strengthening TVET Skills of PTC-Urdaneta through WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025

Manila, Philippines – The Provincial Training Center (PTC)–Urdaneta proudly marked its participation in the prestigious WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025, held from August 26–28, 2025 at the World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Training Center in Manila.

Representing PTC-Urdaneta were Administrator Gerrylyn DC. Ped, together with trainers Rod T. Navarro, William R. Soriano, Nadia D. Verzosa, and Rexter G. De Andres, Jr., and Kim B. Aclera. Their presence at the event highlighted the center’s commitment to advancing Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in line with international standards.

A Platform for Skills Excellence

The WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025 gathered educators, policymakers, industry leaders, and skilled competitors from across Southeast Asia. The event served as a comprehensive platform to emphasize the role of TVET in driving economic growth, fostering innovation, and preparing the workforce for the challenges of Industry 4.0 and beyond.

Insights from the TVET Forum

One of the key highlights was the TVET Forum, which featured discussions on the future of skills development in ASEAN. Topics centered on sustainability, green skills, and the importance of regional collaboration. For PTC-Urdaneta, the sessions reinforced the need to align training programs with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—ensuring not only workforce readiness but also inclusivity and competitiveness.

Showcasing Skills at the WorldSkills Competition

For PTC-Urdaneta, attending WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025 was more than just participation—it was an affirmation of TESDA’s transformative role in shaping a future-ready workforce. The event inspired the team to further upgrade training programs, forge stronger partnerships, and motivate learners to embrace technical careers with pride and excellence.
